Yarn Porn Friday!

now don't get used to this, I rarely get new yarn, but I used up my birthday money at KnitPicks and spent enough to get their free shipping. woohoo!

KnitPicks Shine Sport in Green Apple and Sky, this is to make an unmentioned baby shower gift for a friend.

KnitPicks Wool of the Andes in Chestnut. I'll be making several gingerbread men from the Knit Toys book for Christmas presents for my numerous nephews.

KnitPicks Merino Style in (not in order) Asparagus, Rhubarb, Strawberry, Petal, Iris, Cornflower, Tide Pool, Dusk, Mint, Vanilla, and Frost. I'll be making a pattern from Knitty, Wildstripes for babygirl.

Finally, my first finished Jaywalker sock! woohoo!! I just finished it about 30 minutes ago. Love how it fits, can't wait to get the second one done so I can wear the pair =)

WIP Wednesday

I'm going to attempt to keep this up, so maybe some progress is made on my projects. Today is WIP (work in progress for my non knitting friends) Wednesday.

but first, my two new knitting books courtesy of a birthday gift and birthday gift card =)

First up is a Frizzato scarf made with Plymouth Yarn Frizzato in Red (got this at the local Stitch 'n Pitch).

Second is a set of 4 butterflies from the above Knitted Toys book. These are for my nieces for Christmas, one for each. I'm using KnitPicks Shine Sport yarn in various colors.

Third is my crocheted afghan project. I'm really disliking how the one skein is a bit darker than the others. I have about 4.5 skeins done so far, only 6.5 to go. sigh.

Fourth is my first Jaywalker Sock using yarn dyed in kool aid by the lovely ms. pixie riot. color is "love you till Tuesday." I've actually done a bit more on this since I took the picture this afternoon. really loving this pattern, so fun and easy!

hello...hello....hello (echo)

gosh its been awhile. I really have been knitting/crocheting, just hit a rut for awhile and all I did was washcloths and they basically all look alike except different colors.

I've also been working on some other Christmas presents for my nieces. another thing I've been working on is the afghan that I posted awhile back. I've been focusing on that for the last few weeks trying to get it done as soon as I can. The wedding is still 3 months away, but I'd rather have it done than rush about like a crazy person to get it finished.

but anyway, all that to say there will be pictures later this evening or tomorrow sometime of my latest accomplishments.

yarn!

the lovely yarn I purchased from Ms. Pixie Riot
color is "love you till tuesday" formerly "1-2 crush on you"

I had started a pair of Jaywalker socks out of this lovely yarn until tragedy occurred. my 2 year old ever so nicely took the needles out of the sock and bent one of them. so I rolled it back up and now have to wait until I can get another needle. sigh.

more dishcloths

the aforementioned dishcloth in buttercream and natural, really thick, almost like a potholder.

another Grandma's favorite dishcloth in yellow

and the other aforementioned DW knitted dishcloth in creamsicle

my latest obsession is...

Sugar 'n Cream yarn!

first up is Soapy the Turtle using Shades of Green for the shell and Key Lime for the legs/head/tail

next is Grandmother's Favorite Dishcloth using Hot Purple

after I take a picture there is another Grandmother's Favorite Dishcloth using Buttercream and Natural (double thick for my mother-in-law)

I also have made a DW Darrell Waltrip knitted dishcloth using Creamsicle (this is already in use, so after its washed I'll get a picture)

Monkey socks: completed

I never thought I'd actually finish these. ha! yeah right, I knew I would, they just seemed to be taking f.o.r.e.v.e.r. and a day. amazing how different each sock looks because of how the striping appears.
